Texas Instruments UCC21530 / UCC21530 Q1 Isolated Gate Driver


Texas Instruments UCC21530 / UCC21530-Q1 isolated dual-channel gate driver with 4A source and 6A sink current peak current, designed to drive IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs up to 5MHz with best-in-class propagation delay and pulse width distortion . The input side of the driver is isolated from the two output drivers by a 5.7kVRMS enhanced isolation barrier with a minimum common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 100V / ns. In addition, internal functional isolation between the two secondary side drivers allows operation up to 1850V.

The UCC21530 / UCC21530-Q1 gate driver can be configured as two low side drivers, two high side drivers or a half bridge driver with programmable dead time (DT). The EN pin is pulled low, turning off both outputs and allowing normal operation when turned on or pulled high. The primary side logic fault forces both outputs to fail safe.

Other features include a VDD supply voltage of up to 25V and a wide input VCCI range of 3V to 18V, making the drive suitable for connection to analog and digital controllers. The supply voltage pin provides undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection. The UCC21530 / UCC21530-Q1 achieve high efficiency, high power density and robustness in a variety of power applications. The UCC21530-Q1 device is AEC-Q100 compliant and suitable for automotive applications.
