Renesas Electronics ISL8210M 10A Step Down Power Module


The Renesas ISL8210M 10A high-efficiency step-down power module with analog interface uses proprietary Renesas R4TM technology. The ISL8210M supports a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 16.5V and a 0.5V to 5V output range. The device is capable of delivering up to 10A of continuous current and is optimized for high power density.

The ISL8210M integrates all power supplies and most passive components, requiring only a few external components to operate. The integrated LDO provides a module bias voltage that allows for single supply operation. Optional external resistors provide flexible configuration options such as frequency, V OUT and AV gain. Remote voltage sensing completely eliminates any potential differences between remote and local ground, improving regulation and protection accuracy.

Programmable soft-start reduces the inrush current of the input supply. In addition, the Precision Enable Input and Power-Ready (PGOOD) flags coordinate the startup of the ISL8210M with other voltage rails. With excellent efficiency and low thermal resistance, full power operation is possible without a heat sink. Through input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overtemperature, overcurrent, output overvoltage, and output pre-bias startup, ensuring safe operation under abnormal operating conditions.

The ISL8210M is available in a compact, thermally enhanced 12mm x 11mm x 5.3mm HDA package.
