According to data released by the International Semiconductor Industry Association, in January this year, North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers' sales were 2.34 billion US dollars, a significant increase from the 1.9 billion US dollars in the same period last year, an increase of 22.9%.

Although the year-on-year increase has been significant, the sales of North American semiconductor equipment makers in January declined month-on-month. Data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association show that in December last year, sales of North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers were 2.49 billion U.S. dollars and 2.34 billion U.S. dollars in January this year, a decrease of 150 million U.S. dollars and a 5.9% decrease from the previous quarter.

Ajit Manocha, CEO and President of the International Semiconductor Industry Association, said that North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers ’January sales increased significantly year-on-year, marking a very solid start to 2020, and they expect the global semiconductor equipment market to recover from the weakness of 2019 this year.
